| BWHC is staffed by two certified nurse-midwives
who are educated in the two professions of nursing and midwifery.
They are registered nurses with advanced education who must pass a
national certification exam. They provide prenatal care, childbirth,
and postpartum care and also provide specialized health care to
women of all ages including annual exams and Pap smears, family
planning, and gynecological care. A registered nurse is on call to assist with births and postpartum care. |

Director Lois Yoder, CNM, APRN fulfilled her
dream of becoming a nurse-midwife in 1982 when she graduated
from the Nurse Midwifery Educational Program at the
University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS.
Lois is a seasoned midwife with 28 years of midwifery
experience including 17 years in South America as a rural
missionary. She has attended over 3200 births and still
loves mothers and babies. |

| Angel Schmutz, CNM |
 |
|
Angel Schmutz, CNM, APRN, is a 2003
graduate of KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS with a
master's degree in nurse-midwifery. She has 6 years
experience as a hospital labor and delivery nurse. Angel is
the mother of 3 children. She is
married to Reverend Rob Schmutz of the Benton United
Methodist Church in Benton, KS. Angel and Rob have recently
built their home in the Yoder, KS area. |

Rosina Schmucker, RN, worked as an EMT
and CNA during her nursing school, which included working in
a 50 bed maternity unit at Harrisburg Hospital for over a
year. After graduating in 2005, she worked as a
medical-surgical nurse in Wichita before joining the Birth
Center staff in 2007. She is also a Certified Breastfeeding
Educator. Rosina, her husband William, and their two lively
sons live in rural Partridge, Kansas. |
